The Muse Update

 Update... Really?
First off lovelies, our newest single 'Come with Me' produced by Adrian Bradford
came out last week on digital distribution so check it out!  Here are a few links and even one to just stream it: Streaming full song,
iTunes & GooglePlay. Whilst you are listening on any of the sites, feel free to leave a review!

Now to the really cool stuff... well, for me that is!  If you have been following my music, you know that my studio albums traditionally have not had live musicians.  Well fast forward to the present, and here were are:  live musicians rather, my gents who play on my live shows.  Add to the mix 4 new live studio songs; the delightful honour of having one of the most heard drummers on R&B albums, James Gadson play my songs and, I am all kinds of sappy. Of course he would not have been possible without the introduction from one of my producers, Myles West.  So, thank you again Myles!

Swweeeeetttt.... now, I kinda feel a bit like a TV-infomercial because here comes the, "but wait there's more...." part:  James is playing live with us at our 1st show introducing 'The Muse' album on August 27th at the House of Blues on Sunset.  Colour me every shade of happiness and then add a touch of shimmer!

So, now is the time that I share with you a few behind the scene photos from the studio - Enjoy!!

The guys, the soundboard & some really cool looking tattoos
courtesy Chris!
And Jamie Kime, my amazing guitar player
Chris Roy, my constant, cool under pressure bass player.

Here he is people.. James Gadson

Glen, my producer Myles, James, Chris, Jamie & me

A pretty jazzed group of people- excited & exhausted

So, dear ones .. if you made it to the end of this update, give yourself a big hug from me to you.

As always, I thank you all for being a part of my musical journey and if you are in the LA area on September 27th, come on down to the House of Blues, Foundation Room - it's going to be great!

New Album, 'The Muse'

So you have probably guessed by now that we are working on a new album.  This one is a little unique in that I have joined forces with Myles West who is producing the first project ever for me.  I am also working simultaneously with the producer of my last two albums, Adrian Bradford, on a "follow-up" to 'The Muse.'

I cannot even begin to tell you how much this new project means to me.  The songs are all original and truly are reflective of the world around me.  Talk about a roller-coaster ride!

Working with Myles has been an eye-opening experience.  He has taken me just a little out of my comfort level and pushed me to be more open-minded in my melodies and vocals.  So, be prepared!

The song that is "shared" in the Making of 'The Muse' is a song  called, "Write this Down."   I finished it few months back and, I have to say it is probably one of my favourites in that I literally laid it all on the line for "love" - whew! Let's see how that works out for me, eh?

Here are some part of the lyrics:
Write This Down
V1. Waiting in my world
Finding it hard to breathe
Photographs and messages make up you and me
Missing you makes me want you more
It's slowly killing me
Join me now on this empty dance floor or set me free

Cho. Never thought this is where I'd be
Standing here waiting for you to see
Go ahead and write this down "funny how life turns out, you're mine"

V2. You're sitting in your world
Do you ever think of me while you're driving in your car listening to the songs I sing
I'm not asking for forever only want you here and now
You can be my puppeteer yet, my strings are wearing out.

Enjoy the little video and feel free to share it ... actually, kindly share it!
Well, that is all for now.  Back to the studio I go with not only Myles West, but also with Adrian Bradford; who again is taking my lyrics and making some pretty amazing music as a follow-up to 'The Muse.'

On reflection, I am truly blessed to be doing what I love.  I am so happy that you have decided to join me on this musical adventure - once again!

Have a beautiful morning or evening wherever you are in the world!

Much Love and Happiness,

Wow... it seems like every time I update my blog I promise not to take so long to do it again - yet, here were are in June .. and I am late again!

However, I have to say it is not because I have not wanted to update, I have just been busy writing and working in the studio.  WHAT  A YEAR 2013 has been - well, at least up to this point!

Finally after months... I am happy to say that my new album, Real, will be out soon... as in the middle of June!  This has been such a fun and personal project for me.  :-)

In the meantime, I have been working on promoting the album and the songs a little more - starting in Eastern Europe.  So, yep! You guessed it, this blog is coming right from the heart of Sophia, Bulgaria...  :-)

If you have not already had a chance to hear the first song from the new album out in June please have a listen - New Album Details

More to come - in the meantime, thank you for your support, your emails of encouragement and of course, for joining me on this amazing journey!

Goodbye 2012 ... You've been great!

Wow... what an amazing year 2012 has been!   Even if I wanted to complain about something, I simply could not.  I have been blessed beyond what I could ever deserve.

So, a quick recap...  2012 offered me so many wonderful opportunities.  From completing my "Amiena" EP which featured the debut single of Chris Mann and myself called "Red Light".

(oh and if you have NOT downloaded it, visit this link - and grab it for free until 1/2/2013)

Then there was the travel and meeting new "fans" / friends .... oh my who can take that for granted?  From Los Angeles to London to Morocco to Greece to Turkey to.... I seriously could not even ask for a better year!

Essouira, Morocco

Inside Hagia Sofia - Istanbul, Turkey

Somewhere between Fera, Greece and Oia
Oh!  And who can ignore my holiday CD which for the first time ever, charted me on Amazon music.  Yea, I did not place very high, however to me, I placed and that is of course because of all of you!

This year brought me some challenges and also some fun press articles, if you missed them, be sure to check out my website under "Press" - one from Chulo Magazine is a pretty funny read!

I am sure we all had some great times and some not so good times this year but in the end, we are all still alive and moving forward so, let's go into 2013 full speed ahead knowing that this is the year to do what seems impossible.  Just one step at a time!

Of course, I could never be where I am in this wonderful journey called music without each of you.  I owe you all a very BIG thank you for supporting my music, sharing my songs with your family/friends and for being there to "cheer" me on when perhaps I did not feel like this wonderful musical dream of mine was within my reach.

I wish you all a wonderful New Year and thank you again for one of the best years in my life!  Next year I know will be even better - as Adrian Bradford and I are already in the studio working on new songs for the new album and gigs are already booked for January!

"Live ... Dream ... Believe..."

Much love,
